Position: Banquet Houseman Set Up
Reports to: Director of Catering Operations
Job Type: Part Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly
Southall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way. The Banquet Houseman Set up oversees the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of banquet rooms.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up banquet rooms and event spaces before guest arrival.
- Participate in loading, unloading, and transportation of supplies and equipment.
- Provide support to servers by carrying trays, refilling water glasses, and clearing plates.
- Maintain cleanliness of banquet areas by handling trash removal and general cleaning duties
- Monitor inventory levels and notify staff of necessary replenishments.
- Collaborate cooperatively with other staff members to ensure successful events.
- Respond to guest requests and resolve any issues in a prompt and professional manner.
- Possess knowledge of safety and emergency procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
- To verify with the Banquet Captain that room is set up to their satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness standards and excellent condition of equipment and surrounding work areas.
- To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
- To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
- Report all guest request changes to Banquet Captain and Manager
- Attend all required meeting when assigned.
- Assure that all equipment is kept in clean working condition.
- To check all banquet rooms daily and to immediately report any maintenance problem to the Engineering Department.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous Banquet and Event Set-up experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and collaboration skills
- Attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills
Education and Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 lbs.
- Available to work weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.
- Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods as needed and able to work in all weather conditions.
- Constantly moving between indoor and outdoor environments, throughout shift.
