The district is presently undergoing extensive turnaround at all levels, with the assistance of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. REQUIREMENTS:
- An Associate's Degree from an accredited college strongly preferred
- Proficient in both English and Spanish in all forms of classroom communication
- Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers
- Cultural sensitivity and interest in working with a diverse student population
- Able to communicate effectively in English with building administrators, teachers and support staff, students, and parents
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provide ESL and content area tutoring to Limited English Proficient students in small groups or one-to-one under supervision of the ESL, classroom and / or content area teacher
- Meet with classroom teachers / grade level team on a regular basis for joint curriculum planning and student assessment
- Contribute to the decisions of the Language Assessment Team
- Communicate with parents as needed
- Attend professional development trainings for tutors
