What are the responsibilities and job description for the First Shift Warehouse Stocker position at Southco Distributing Company?
This position is accountable for receiving merchandise and the proper stocking of all inventory products during the day shift Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm.
- Stock product via specific locations via labels and receiving documents.
- Receive product using RF scanners and label printers
- Maintain product levels and inventory cycle counts.
- Keep work area clean and free of obstructions and review work section prior to leaving shift to ensure that night shift have safe and free access to product.
- Moving product on Stand-up Forklift when needed
- Certified Forklift Driver
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and past successful warehouse experience to include use of case cutters, pallet jacks, reach trucks, forklifts (Stand-up Preferred).
Physical Requirements
Standing – This is a demanding position which requires a person to be on his feet 8 to 10 hours per day. It is necessary to stand in one area for an extended period, and at times necessary to climb over or onto obstacles to complete work.
Lifting – This involves lifting and moving cases in warehouse and on shelving. Some case weights can be as high as 60 lbs. with an average case weight of 30 lbs.
Environment – Work performed is in a facility without air conditioning or central heating, with cold and hot weather stress. This includes a cooler/freezer which ranges in temperature (38-42 degrees in cooler) and (6-12 degrees in freezer
