- Support the student with classroom activities, assignments, and participation.
- Assist with mobility, including transferring between wheelchair and other seating areas as needed.
- Provide personal care assistance, including toileting, hygiene, and feeding as required.
- Implement accommodations outlined in the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and work closely with teachers and support staff.
- Ensure the student’s safety and well-being throughout the school day, including during transitions and recess.
- Foster social interaction and inclusion within the classroom and school community.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support student progress.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or college coursework in education preferred).
- Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly those requiring physical assistance.
- Ability to lift and assist with mobility transfers safely; training will be provided.
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow individualized care plans and work under teacher supervision.
- First Aid/CPR certification; or willingness to obtain.
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, PCA, or caregiver.
- Training in behavior management or special education support.

Lincoln Elementary is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to provide academic and personal care support for a student in a wheelchair. This role involves assisting the student with daily classroom activities, mobility, and personal care needs while fostering independence and a positive learning environment. This position is 6.75 hours per day 5 days per week. Approximate rate of pay starts at $19.36. This position will commence on February 24, 2025 and goes until approximately the end of the school year.
