What are the responsibilities and job description for the Connections Ministry Leader - Shelby County Campus position at Southeast Christian Church?
Our mission is to connect people to Jesus and one another. The Connections Leader has accountability for guiding all adults who attend the SC Campus to take the next step in their spiritual growth. This is accomplished primarily through the engagement process of moving a person from a guest to a fully committed follower of Christ who is unleashed to love people one at a time. This ministry leader will ensure the alignment with the overarching mission and strategies of Southeast Christian Church.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Work with the Campus Pastor and multi-campus disciple-making team to develop and implement strategies for the SC Campus.
- Primary oversight of the engagement process; including Starting Point and Membership Classes. To provide a pathway for people to grow from guests to engaged members. In alignment with Southeast’s disciple-making strategy.
- Provide pastoral care and oversight for adult groups in partnership with other SC campus staff.
- Willingness to model and lead a small group to create healthy discipleship communities where people can grow closer to Jesus and one another.
- Lead the Decision Guide, Baptism Assistant and Guest Central volunteer teams, as needed. Communicate to volunteers and others using email, video, and other media.
- Rotating platform host and teaching responsibilities with Campus Pastor.
- Participate in normal pastoral responsibilities, such as, hospital visitations, baptism, weddings, funerals, Minister On Call, etc.
- Work with the Campus Pastor and others to plan and execute weekend services and campus events in conjunction with the mission, vision and strategies of Southeast Christian Church. Assist in preparations for weekend services directly and by leading volunteers.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of what Biblical disciple-making means and the ability to communicate it to others.
- Capacity to explain doctrinal issues and answer questions in a biblical and understandable manner.
- Ability to identify, shepherd, recruit, train, and empower volunteers and group leaders.
- Highly relational with strong people skills with the ability to inspire people toward action.
- Strong work ethic and a team player who interacts well with staff, members and guests.
Our Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Bible, Ministry, or Christian Education required
- 3 years ministry experience in a church setting
- Ordained pastor or willingness to become ordained
- Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one
