Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Provide oversight and strategic direction for the revenue cycle, including billing, coding, reimbursement, and collections .
- Collaborate with Regional Vice Presidents and operational leaders to standardize processes and drive alignment between clinical operations and RCM .
- Develop long-range objectives and implement policies in response to internal and external changes .
- Identify, design, and implement best practices to optimize the full revenue cycle process, ensuring efficient billing, accurate coding, and effective collections .
- Monitor and analyze key metrics (e.g., AR days, denial rates) to drive improvements that enhance financial performance .
- Drive operational improvements by working closely with clinic leadership to refine workflows, increase profitability, and improve patient experience across multiple sites .
- Define targets related to revenue and profit, reviewing outcomes to ensure alignment with organizational priorities .
- Oversee compliance with healthcare regulations, payer policies, and organizational standards to mitigate risk and uphold ethical operations .
- Conduct regular financial analyses to identify trends, areas of improvement, and mitigate denials to maximize cash flow .
- Lead, mentor, and develop teams across both operations and RCM, ensuring best practices in documentation, coding, and quality standards .
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders—including finance, clinical providers, and compliance—to identify opportunities for innovation and revenue enhancement .
- Manage and evaluate vendors (e.g., billing companies, software providers), negotiating contracts and maintaining service level agreements .
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred .
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership in revenue cycle management, preferably in a healthcare setting .
- Strong background in healthcare operations, with proven ability to oversee multiple sites and drive process improvements .
- Excellent analytical, financial, and interpersonal skills, capable of synthesizing complex data and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders .
- Ability to travel up to 30% within assigned markets .
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force .
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time .
- Fine motor skills to operate office equipment .
- Ability to use logical reasoning for problem-solving and to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing .
- Ability to travel to multiple locations as needed .
