Southeast Michigan Community Alliance (SEMCA) is recruiting talented professionals who want to contribute and make a difference in our southeast Michigan community!! SEMCA is a Michigan Works! Agency providing workforce development programs to residents in Wayne and Monroe counties, excluding the city of Detroit. SEMCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and employees with student loan debt are eligible to apply for public service loan forgiveness (PSLF). SEMCA also promotes work life balance by providing full-time administrative staff a hybrid work schedule. Employees are permitted to work remotely three days per week and only required to perform duties in the Taylor administrative office two days a week.Wage Range : $21.00 - $24.00Job SummaryResponsible for consolidating, transforming, and modeling of data into charts, graphs, tables and reports to be used to improve the quality and accuracy of program data.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnalyze program datato find gaps or errorsProvide technical assistance to contractors and sub awardees to resolve errorsAssist the Data Analyst Assistant Manager with the following activities : Gather, analyze, correlate, or evaluate information from a variety of resourcesCondense large, often complex data into clear, concise, easy-to-understand observationsAnalyze large volumes of data to look at performance, quality and trendingPrepare comprehensive written reports, presentations, maps, or charts based on research, collection, and analysis of dataDevelop reports, test and debug errors, and validate resultsCollaborate with decision makers by collecting, analyzing data and reporting resultsConsult with staff to effectively produce requested reports, analyze requirements, and convert specifications into computer codeRepresent SEMCA at internal and external meetingsAssist in developing departmental policies to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulationsOther duties as assigned

  • QualificationsAll SEMCA team members are expected to be technically competent and committed to continuous development of their skills. The following skills, knowledge and education or certifications are specifically required for this position : Associate degree in computer science or equivalent experienceExperienced with Microsoft Office SuiteProficient with Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUP function, pivot tables and formulasAbility to apply analytical techniques to a wide variety of dataStrong analytical, quantitative skills and problem solving skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects, deadlines and responsibilitiesFlexible and adaptable to fast paced, changing environments; detail oriented and drivenProficient at translating Contractor's data requests into reportsProficient with SQLGood communication skillsPhysical DemandsDuties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer, vision to read printed materials on an LCD screen and smartphone, hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person and over the telephone.
