Interim Vice President of Business and Finance Job Description Summary
This is a key leadership role at Southeast New Mexico College, responsible for overseeing all financial functions and providing strategic guidance to support the institution's mission and vision. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading teams, managing financial operations, and driving performance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with the college's strategic plan, mission, and vision.
- Oversee the college's financials and related functions including financial management and planning, accounting, procurement, budgeting, auditing, financial aid, application of internal controls, and investment management.
- Manage the college's investments, endowment, and spending practices with an emphasis on strong stewardship of funds.
- Work closely with schools, colleges, universities, businesses, community groups, and the Board of Trustees to provide relevant information, consultation, and recommendations on financial related matters.
Requirements:
- Terminal degree or Master's of Business Administration from an accredited university with eight (8) years of progressively responsible financial management experience and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a financial leadership role within higher education/government.
- Proven track record of leading teams, managing financial operations, and driving performance.
- Experience with higher education SIS and ERP systems (e.g., Anthology). Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
