Command Medical Solutions, Inc. is a multi-state disability evaluation service searching for a Full-Time Certified or Registered Medical Assistant for Mondays, 8:00am-4:30pm.
Major Job Function. The following summary of the major job function is intended solely as a guide. The Medical Assistant should expect to be assigned additional duties, tasks and/or projects on a routine basis.
A. Perform ancillaries such as EKGs, PFTs, ABI Doppler, Visual Acuity, Vitals, triage and Phlebotomy.
B. Review history information, ensure Veteran completes history forms prior to departure.
C. Exam room turn-down and appropriate sanitation before and after each use.
D. Assist and chaperone for Professional Providers as requested.
E. Maintain cleanliness and organization in common areas, supply room, and patient exam rooms.
F. Fax and/or upload all pertinent diagnostics as appropriate.
G. Create charts and schedule, data entry, diagnostic data entry.
H. Prepare Veterans and Service Members for their exam.
I. Contact customers to request authorization for additional ancillaries requested by the practitioner.
J. Answer and manage incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual.
K. Checking in/out Veterans and verifying valid identification.
L. Completes all necessary paperwork and diagnostic exams timely and accurately.
M. Monitor inventory and notifies Supply Manager of needed supplies in a timely manner.
N. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized environment.
O. Remains abreast and educated on all Company Policy and Procedures.
P. Actively maintains a Veteran, and customer-first mentality, providing excellent service.
Q. Encourages and practices positive work environment and interactions in the workplace.
R. Conducts daily business in conjunction with Company Mission, Motto, and Vision.
S. Other Duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, and bend. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or more; view and interact with computer monitor/computer for occasional or extended periods of time. Repetitive motion of upper body required as appropriate for the exam. If traveling, there may be extended periods of sitting.
Qualification
The following qualifications are the minimum requirement necessary to adequately perform in the Medical Assisting role. However, equivalent combination of experience, education, and training which provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities would be acceptable, subject to and legal and/or regulatory requirements.
A. Registered or Certified Medical Assistant licensure as required by state guidelines.
B. High school diploma or equivalent required.
C. Valid CPR for Health Care Providers (BLS).
D. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
E. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients, claimants, service members, physicians, and healthcare team members.
F. Proficient in data entry with excellent typing skills; knowledge of medical terminology.
G. Must have working knowledge of using basic equipment such as facsimile machine, computer, printer, and other general office equipment.
