Minimum Requirements
- Associate Degree in Welding Technology
- Three to Five years of direct experience in the Welding field
- Knowledgeable in welding, as evidenced by education and/or experience
- Effective in directing and evaluating student learning and hands-on performance and be prepared in educational theory and techniques.

NCCER Credential
Teaching experience, and/or professional experience in the field
American Welding Society Certifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Classroom instructional techniques and procedures.
- Principles and procedures of academic and instructional program development and administration in the area of assignment.
- Current trends, research, and development in the area of assignment.
- Principles and procedures of record keeping.
- Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations, as appropriate.
Ability to:
- Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities.
- Create effective instruction for delivery in both online and physical classrooms while maintaining compliance with ADA standards.
- Interpret and apply federal, state, and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Primary Functions of Position
Since quality instruction is the primary function of the college, it is the principal responsibility of each Instructor to effectively and efficiently stimulate learning in every course. The purpose of this position is to provide a comprehensive, educational instructional program committed to quality teaching and successful student achievement. This course provides proper technique, safety, and detail which are essential skills of trades professionals. Format for the course will include classroom instruction and individualized demonstrations of skills utilized in the field.
Essential Duties:
- Teach assigned classes using a variety of instructional methods to achieve student learning according to expected outcomes. Appropriately teach or present information, ideas, and skills in ways that accommodate different learning styles of a diverse student population.
- Provides students with hands on training as well as textbook training as needed to succeed in the Welding field
- Ensures that all necessary documentation is kept current and delivered in a timely manner
- Ensures that accurate and current materials are being used in the classroom
- Stay up to date on current technology and incorporate it into class learning
- Determine need for supplies; ensure proper storage and security of supplies
- Maintains cleanliness of class/labs area
- Prepares lesson plans, course overviews and course syllabi
- Selects appropriate learning material for assigned classes
- Create classroom activities and learning environments that meet the needs of all learners, including high school students, adult learners, and senior populations.
- A willingness to teach in the day, evening, on Saturday, at unconventional times or via distance learning as necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned
