Southeastern Louisiana University's Center for Faculty Excellence invites applications for the position of Instructional Design Specialist. The Instructional Design Specialist will work with Southeastern Online to assist faculty with course planning, development, and delivery. The Instructional Design Specialist will also assist faculty with the University's course alignment process by developing and delivering face-to-face and online faculty training courses, workshops, and seminars.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional/Educational Technology or job related field from
an accredited university.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working as an educational/instructional designer/creator at the college level.
- Teaching experience
- Experience creating graduate and undergraduate online courses
- Experience as an online course facilitator/trainer at the college level
- Experience collaborating with college faculty in developing online curriculums and web-based courses
- Quality Matters Certification
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Strong ability to work independently and as a team member
- Knowledge of online accessibility issues
- Working knowledge of Moodle
- Excellent editing, writing and communication skills
- Knowledge of pedagogy, learning theories and instructional design models
- Superior time management skills
- Knowledge of adult learning styles
