DESCRIPTION:
Southeastern is seeking a passionate and experienced Design and Graphics teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, graphics, and visual communication, a commitment to educational excellence, and the ability to inspire and engage students.
POSITION SUMMARY:
To prepare students for careers in advertising and design by enhancing their distinctive artistic perspectives in the design, creation, production, and distribution of various creative and promotional materials. Additionally, the Advertising and Design program aims to cultivate the employability and professional skills essential for success in the co-operative education program, college, and the workplace.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curriculum Development: plan and execute engaging, interactive lessons in Graphic Design and Visual Communication that align with the updated Ch 74 frameworks.
Assess student performance through a variety of assignments, quizzes, projects, live job applications and provide constructive feedback on their growth and development.
Establish and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Communicate with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
Utilize the latest design software tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, FIGMA, and Blender.
Collaboration with colleagues for the overall success of the Advertising and Design department

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess a Chapter 74 teaching license in Design and Visual Communications/ Graphic Communications or possess the education and employment experience necessary to obtain a Ch 74 license. These include:
Associate’s degree or higher degree would include at least 18 credits in subject matter related to the technical strand of the Vocational Technical Education Framework in graphic design and visual communications.
Four years of full-time employment experience directly related to the design and graphics industry.
Passing on each NOCTI test (written & performance)
One of the following:
achieve a passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test
achieve a passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills Test
