Clinical Administrator - Southeastern Renal Dialysis
Southeastern Renal Dialysis (SRD) is seeking a dedicated and ambitious, operationally focused, and results-driven leader to oversee our five dialysis units located in southeast Iowa. As the Clinical Administrator, you will be responsible for the leadership of our units ensuring all clinical, operational, and business objectives are achieved. This is a full-time, exempt position with a generous employee benefits package reporting directly to the Board of Managing Directors.
The Clinical Administrator will be responsible for developing a culture of trust, empowerment, and collaboration for all unit staff members to provide quality patient care for clinical reporting and for operational oversight. The Clinical Administrator will be accountable for the success of SRD and is authorized to make daily decisions to ensure patient and staff safety and ensure the units comply with the requirements of any governmental or regulatory body that has authority on the premises to ensure medical practices and procedures meet applicable standards.

What you will be doing as the Clinical Administrator.
Leadership.
- Leads the strategic and operational planning process, which ensures the organization’s ability to adapt to changes in the external environment.
- Develops an effective working relationship with SRD’s Board of Managing Directors on issues regarding patient care, regulatory compliance, quality reporting, and other issues pertinent to clinical operations. Facilitate other duties and projects as requested by the Managing Board of Directors.
- Responsible for SRD’s interaction with staff physicians/providers on all operational issues.
- Accountable for all regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for achieving (through delegation) effectiveness in patient and staff educational programs.
- Serves as SRD’s resource for the clinical aspects of the EMR information system.
Clinical services and operations within organizational standards for quality measures.
- Contributes to the development of annual and longer-term quality plans.
- Manages the clinical operations to ensure that clinical quality standards are achieved. Complying with all applicable regulatory and legal statutes pertaining to the provision of renal dialysis.
- Mentors subordinate managers and holds them accountable for supporting the organizational quality plan.
- Communicates with SRD’s physicians to assure them understanding of SRD’s quality plan (and its related performance measures) and to encourage their adoption of practice patterns which assure its accomplishment.
- Supports quality data reporting through the timely and accurate processing of data which supports on-going measurement.
Lead and supervise staff in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and values.
- Ensure that staff understand and fulfill their roles SRD employees.
- Actively monitors and participates as appropriate in all aspects of staff performance improvement.
- Leads organizational initiatives regarding education of staff (and patients); assures continual staff competency and supports an environment of continual professional growth.
- Supervises recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and orientation processes.
- Contributes to organizational decisions regarding compensation and benefits.
- Enforces the policies and procedures published by SRD.
Financial Performance.
- Leads the annual budgeting process for operational, capital, and HR budgets.
- Supports financial reporting through timely processing of data which facilitates financial reports.
- Controls variable cost inputs to maintain budgeted cost positions.
- Supports organizational systems for maintaining cost efficiencies, including purchasing, staffing and clinical practices.
- Mentors’ managers and keep them accountable for staffing, budgeting performance and functional data reporting.
- Contributes to all organizational initiatives to achieve targeted financial performance.
- Communicates with SRD’s physicians to encourage their support of the organizational financial goals and their acceptance of the operational specifics essential for its achievement.
Staff supervision.
- Works collaboratively with and supervises Support Services Coord, Billing Coord, Controller, Human Resources, Nurse Managers, Nurse Educator
- Supervises and supports the activities of social workers and dieticians.
- Assumes leadership for SRD’s referral/patient intake system, assuring its organization, efficiency, and effectiveness.
What we are looking for in a Clinical Administrator.
- Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business, or in a clinical discipline. Master’s degree (preferred)
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a managerial or administrative role at a senior level of a health care organization or a minimum of ten years’ experience at the departmental level of a dialysis facility.
- Experience working with clinical and financial teams.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
