Assistant Permit Coordinator – Pembroke Pines

We are seeking a computer-savvy Rockstar to join our team! The Assistant Permit Coordinator oversees all aspects of permits management, works with a design team in the Traffic Control industry to ensure projects stay on track by administering permits and expediting the permit process for all parties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Help prepare and submit MOT permit applications following all regulations
- Gather documents from engineers and CAD techs to complete applications
- Make sure permit requests stay on schedule with project timeline
- Enter and update permit info in tracking systems
- Keep logs of permit statuses like submission, approval, and expiration dates
- Follow up with cities and clients under the guidance of the Permit Coordinator
- Prepare basic reports on permit progress for team review
- Organize and maintain all permit-related files (digital and physical)
- Assist with invoicing by gathering and checking permit-related info
- Provide general admin support—calls, meetings, and team communication
- Join training sessions and learn permitting processes and rules
- Take on other tasks as needed to support the permitting team
What we are looking for:
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year of permitting experience
- Knowledge of traffic control is a plus
- Strong organization, time management, and multitasking skills
- Able to read and understand MOT plans and regulations
- Detail-oriented and team-focused, even in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working Environment:
- General office environment: Works generally at a desk in a well-lighted, air-conditioned cubicle/office, with moderate noise levels.
- Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours. Requires travel to job sites around the Fort Lauderdale area.
- Involves working near high-speed traffic and large construction equipment on occasion.
