Local trucking company is seeking a dedicated Service Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair operations of our fleet. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day service activities, ensure all vehicles are maintained to the highest safety standards, and lead a team of technicians to deliver efficient, reliable service. This role is crucial to minimizing downtime and ensuring our trucks stay on the road, supporting the smooth flow of our local and regional deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily service center operations, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
- Ensure timely maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles, minimizing downtime.
- Manage parts inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective supply chain management.
- Staff Supervision & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage service center staff, including technicians, mechanics, and administrative personnel.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for training and development.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and complaints related to service center operations.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service quality.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the service center budget, including labor, parts, and operational expenses.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures as needed.
- Generate reports on operational efficiency, budget adherence, and profitability.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all service center operations comply with federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Logistics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
