What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alumni Operations Coordinator position at Southern Arkansas University?
Southern Arkansas University is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Alumni Operations Coordinator to expand the Alumni Relations Team.
Duties: greet and assist visitors to the SAU Alumni Center; coordinate all areas of the Alumni Center; oversee all student-workers and graduate assistants; assist in maintaining and updating alumni/friend records in the alumni database; facilitate all purchase orders, budget transfers, purchasing cards, etc. in POISE; coordinate Legacy Lane Brick ordering and installments; help compile agendas and minutes for quarterly SAUAA Board meetings; answer phones, route calls, and assist with daily Advancement mailings; provide support to the Advancement Team for community engagement events, such as Mulegating, Blue & Gold Day, Homecoming, Alumni Gatherings, Senior Celebration, etc.; assist the Director of Alumni Relations with errands and special projects; provide support to the SAU Division of Advancement and the Vice President of Advancement and other duties as assigned. Travel may be required, both locally as well as out of state. Some nights and weekend work is required.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited four-year college/university or equivalent experience; display exemplary customer service skills and a strong work ethic; demonstrate superior interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally with a culturally diverse group of co-workers and alumni; proven track record in organizational and project management skills and the ability to prioritize workload in a timely manner to complete assignments with many deadlines and competing requirements; excellent oral and written communication skills; embrace a creative and collaborative working style; outdoor work is required, essential physical requirements: climbing, standing, event setup, and lifting items up to 50 pounds; commitment to working in a diverse community and have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
