What are the responsibilities and job description for the Backflow Technician position at Southern Backflow Services?
We are looking for a Backflow Tester that is willing to travel throughout LA, MS, AL & TN to perform backflow testing and repairs of domestic, fireline, and irrigation backflow preventers within commercial and corporate buildings.
We are looking for a dedicated Backflow Tester to join our team. Initially, you will work closely with a trained and certified backflow technician until you achieve your certification. The company will cover the cost of certification in each state as needed. This position requires the ability to drive for extended periods, as you’ll be traveling across multiple states with daily job deadlines. As a result, overnight stays in hotels will be required, with per diem provided.
We are seeking a full-time technician who is available to travel Monday through Thursday most weeks.
Requirements
- Must have valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- High School Degree
- Must have reliable transportation to the office in Picayune, MS in order to pickup work vehicle
- Must be mechanically inclined and competent to use hand-held tools
- Must pass drug screening and background check
- Must be able to drive for long periods of time and stay in hotel when needed
Skills
- Familiarity with email scheduling tools, like Gmail calendar
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
