The Southern California Mountains Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that believes connecting communities to our public lands is the key to their survival. We mobilize individuals to inspire and engage in environmental citizenship. The Southern California Mountains Foundation supports youth development through conservation initiatives integrating environmental education, training and hands-on service projects; protects our natural resources through adult and family-led programming; and provides interpretive services that focus on outdoor recreation, responsible use, and stewardship of our natural environment. The Southern California Mountains Foundation consists of 45 full-time staff, 75-100 part-time employees and 450 volunteers. We achieve our mission through seven programs: (1) Urban Conservation Corps of the Inland Empire, (2) Big Bear Discovery Center, (3) Off-Highway Vehicles, (4) Fire Lookouts, (5) National Children’s Forest, (6) Music in the Mountains and (7) Big Bear Trails. The Grants Compliance Manager is part of the organization's administration department. The administration department collects, organizes, records and archives all financial transactions of the organization. The administration department provides administrative and technical support in the areas of human resources, budgetary, strategic planning, grant reporting/compliance and accounts payable and receivable.
Job Description:
The Grants Billing Coordinator, under the guidance of the Grants and Compliance Manager, will be responsible for overseeing the billing and compliance of all grants and contracts for SCMF programs. Specifically this position will provide analysis, post-award services, and oversight to ensure compliance with State, Federal, and Private Foundation Grants and contract-specific requirements; serve as a resource for staff of grant-funded programs for fiscal and programmatic compliance matters.
Essential functions and duties will include:
- Review assigned grants and contracts and serve as the internal expert on grant compliance including but not limited to, reporting deadlines, insurance, and billing requirements.
- Work with SCMF staff to provide updates to ensure expenses are consistently aligned with grants and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period.
- Work with SCMF staff to develop and implement processes to ensure grant compliance and required billing.
- Maintains documentation of all contracts and grants in collaboration with program staff.
- Create tracking sheets, documentation files, and reporting folders with correct templates for new grants to ensure compliance.
- Maintain contracts, grants, expense budgets, and analysis accounting to ensure accuracy.
- Compile monthly and quarterly grant reimbursement requests, enter them into QuickBooks and detail sheets, and follow up on outstanding grant payments.
- Assist in grant application budget creation, financial reporting, analysis and projections, fiscal year end close, and audits.
- Serves as liaison between granting entity and agency.
- Participate in staff meetings and development activities as directed.
- Create DRs (daily reports) for our operations personnel based on work schedules given
- Enter timesheets for our trainees based on daily reports and transfer information to master timesheets for payroll and billing.
- Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting or related experience managing grants.

Compensation: This is a full-time hourly position with a work schedule of Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Hourly wages based on qualifications and experience; $24-$28/hour
