JOB SUMMARY:
The Southern California Pipe Trades Administrative Corporation is seeing a Technical Support Specialist in the Information Systems Department. They will provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software and hardware. They will respond to queries, either in person, remotely or over the phone while maintaining a high level of courteous customer service at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The most significant responsibilities of this position are:
- Perform troubleshooting procedures
- Resolve technological issues by assisting the end user through a series of possible solutions
- Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the next level of support
- Record, track, and follow up on requests submitted via online ticketing system
- Install, update or change software including lifecycle management
- Assemble and disassemble audiovisual equipment in conference rooms
- Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records
- Design and deploy VMware Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions
- Configure and maintain App Volumes for real-time application delivery Monitor VDI infrastructure for performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to virtualization and VDI environments
- Maintain detailed documentation of VDI configurations including all changes
Other responsibilities may be assigned by Management based on the individual's abilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma (associate's degree preferred)
- Working knowledge of Office applications
- 3 years of experience in VDI deployments, service, and maintenance
- Knowledge and/or experience with desktop support and customer service
- Proficient with Windows operating system
- Knowledge and/or experience with Taft-Hartley employee benefits plans preferred
