```Duties:```
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Utilize medical terminology and coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 to assign appropriate codes for procedures and diagnoses
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and resubmit claims as necessary
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Update patient accounts with relevant information, including insurance changes and payment details
- Assist with medical collections and work with patients to set up payment plans if needed
```Qualifications:```
- Previous experience in medical billing or a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9), and billing processes
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and insurance guidelines
- Proficient in using electronic billing systems and other relevant software applications
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team
- Have knowledge of EPIC and clinical EMR.
