Position: NH3 Barge Superintendent (Ammonia Specialist)
Location: New Orleans/Baton Rouge/Plaquemine (Travel between Pensacola, FL to Victoria, TX up to Memphis, TN)
The Position Responsibility
The NH3 Barge Superintendent is responsible for assisting with overseeing overhauls on barge machinery, steel replacement and routine repairs or dry-docking. This position will require onboard time on company barges. Hull and Machinery with Shipyard experience is required.
NH3 Barge Superintendent Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting in overseeing overhaul on barge machinery, steel replacement and routine repairs or dry-docking
- Assist superintendent with follow-ups on problems reported by NH3 Tankerman
- Dispatch personnel/vendors for routine and non-routine maintenance
- Be available on-call 24/7 for any and all emergencies, business interruptions, system failures, fires, etc.
- Travel
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated computer skills: Expert with MS office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Sharepoint)
- Minimum 5 years marine industry
- Project Management Experience
- Good working knowledge of Southern Devall barges and transfer procedures
- Ability to access risk and make safe risk-based decisions
- Must hold Valid TWIC Card
- Must hold Valid Drivers License
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be able to ascend/descend portable ladders and /or fixed stairs
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times
Skills/Experience Required
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities.
- Hull and Machinery Experience and Shipyard Experience Required
- Self-starter, able to prioritize and work independently
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Ability to maintain successful working relationships with departmental personnel, maritime, and vessel personnel
- Strong organizational and time management skills
