Your Role and Responsibilities : As a Claims Specialist, you will evaluate and adjudicate claims, ensuring they align with our standards. Your essential responsibilities will encompass :
- Reviewing and processing various types of claims (Death, Health, Group, Long Term Care) while calculating and disbursing benefits within your designated authorization limits.
- Investigating death claims in your assigned states by analyzing the entire policy file to verify rightful payees and facilitating the authorization of advance payments when required.
- Conducting thorough investigations on complex claims such as contestable and accidental death benefits to ensure accuracy and fairness.
- Maintaining open communication with a range of stakeholders including agency personnel, beneficiaries, law enforcement, investigative bodies, attorneys, and medical offices regarding claims processing.
- Resolving complex claims and conflicts efficiently, working alongside legal counsel when necessary for claims that might require litigation.
- Tracking pending claims diligently to ensure timely resolution.
- Reviewing and approving correspondence drafted by the Claims Service Representatives.
- Ensuring comprehensive and precise documentation of each claim file.
