Material Handler

Description

Essential Functions:

• Employees are expected to facilitate the movement of products in process to meet production schedule needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload full and empty buggies.
• Read and understand written tickets on buggies.
• Safely operate an industrial forklift as needed (certification required post-job acceptance).
• Identify, pull, and supply proper foam and poly quantities for daily production.
• Replenish materials as needed for the daily production schedule.
• Communicate with the poly mill manager or floor manager regarding questions or problems.
• Collaborate with other employees to maintain a team concept daily.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station during operations.
• Assist others when necessary.
• Perform assigned duties.

Safety Responsibilities:

• You are responsible for your safety.
• Report any work-related injury or illness immediately.
• Keep the work area neat and free of hazards. Compressed air use without proper safety nozzles is prohibited for cleanup.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Ensure proper lifting techniques: avoid bending and twisting at the waist whenever possible.
• Inspect hand tools and protective equipment before use.
• Learn the hazards of equipment and procedures used on the job.
• Report defective, malfunctioning machines, tools, or protective equipment immediately.
• Participate in safety training and meetings.
• Report hazards or risks related to policies or procedures.

Requirements:

Education and Skills Required:

• Basic reading and writing skills are required.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English.
• Must be able to correctly identify colors.

Safety:

• Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times within designated areas.
• Safety is enforced daily to prevent accidents.
