Job Overview
This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse systems and equipment. The individual will act as the primary point of contact for technical support, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining inventory.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 support to the division, including training employees on procedures and systems.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for system integration.
- Maintain and assist with Material Handling systems, including conveyor belts, scanners, and controls.
- Develop advanced processes to measure and improve equipment performance and prioritize improvement projects.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues and maintain service performance at distribution centers.
- Assist with evaluating and implementing process changes for other distribution systems.
- Train distribution center employees on procedures and MHE systems.
Additional Responsibilities
- Initial point of contact for onsite support at distribution centers.
- Handle incidents and provide level 2 support for remote small and medium distribution centers, triaging to level 3 as needed.
- Perform proactive maintenance for warehouse equipment.
- Document and escalate issues to vendors and SGWS SCM support groups.
- Manage spare parts inventory and report as required.
- Oversee detailed root cause analysis of reliability issues.
- Implement operations continuous improvement measures and initiatives.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5 years of work experience, with 3 years in Warehouse Operations and Support.
- Working knowledge of PLC operations, Compressed Air systems, and Storage and Retrieval Machines.
- MS Office and general desktop software experience required.
- Experience with conveyor systems, pick-to-belt operations, and MHE systems, including software such as Warehouse Control Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, and Maintenance Tracking Software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Physical Demands
- Sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer for a considerable amount of time.
- Occasional walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping.
- Extended hours, overtime, and weekends may be required.
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs.
