Social Worker or Licensed Counselor

Location :   Door County Jail Open Position :  Licensed Professional Counselor LPC or MSW  Schedule : 8 hrs per week Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Provider to deliver vital mental health services to inmates within a county jail system. The ideal candidate will possess either a master's degree in counseling or social work. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to positively impact individuals' lives during an important time. Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of inmates' mental health needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on stabilization, skill-building, and preparation for re-entry into the community.
• Provide individual and group counseling services, addressing a range of issues such as substance abuse, trauma, anger management, and coping skills.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including corrections staff, medical professionals, and probation officers to ensure comprehensive care.
• Facilitate referrals to internal programs and external community resources for ongoing support upon release.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, sessions, and other relevant information.
• Stay current with best practices in correctional mental health and seek out opportunities for professional growth.
