About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Provider to deliver essential services to inmates in a county jail system.
The ideal candidate will possess either a master's degree in counseling or social work and be licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC), Social Worker (MSW), or Psychiatric Nurse (RN).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of inmates' mental health needs using standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on stabilization, skill-building, and preparation for re-entry into the community.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including corrections staff, medical professionals, and probation officers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Facilitate referrals to internal programs and external community resources for ongoing support upon release.
- Stay current with best practices in correctional mental health and seek out opportunities for professional growth.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in counseling or social work and current licensure (LPC, MSW, etc.)
- Eligibility for certification in correctional mental health preferred
- Registered Nurses: Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing and correctional health experience preferred but not required
