Mental Health Provider Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate mental health professional to provide essential services to inmates in a county jail.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess either a master's degree in counseling or social work and be licensed as a Professional Counselor (LPC), Social Worker (MSW), or Psychiatric Nurse (RN).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of inmates' mental health needs using standardized tools and clinical interviews.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on stabilization, skill-building, and re-entry preparation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including corrections staff, medical professionals, and probation officers for comprehensive care.
- Facilitate referrals to internal programs and external community resources for ongoing support.
- Stay current with best practices in correctional mental health and pursue opportunities for professional growth.
Requirements
- Master's degree in counseling or social work.
- Current licensure (LPC, MSW, etc.) and eligibility for certification in correctional mental health (preferred).
- For Registered Nurses: Minimum 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing; correctional health experience preferred but not required.
