Southern Hills Country Club is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Accounts Payable and Accounting Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play an important role in managing accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments, and performing other tasks to support the accounting operations of the Club. This position offers a dynamic work environment where the individual will contribute to the smooth operation of the Club’s accounting processes while working with the CFO and G&A team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:
- Review, verify, and process invoices, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare twice-a-week payment runs and ensure all payments are made in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and supporting documentation.
- Set up new vendors, gather necessary documentation, verifying information, and setting up payment details.
- Answer vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.
- General Accounting Support:
- Assist with general ledger entries and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Assist with annual 1099 filings and related compliance.
- Assist in other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Assist with annual external audits, gathering requested documentation and supporting information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience in accounts payable, accounting, or related field.
- Understanding basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Work schedule is approximately 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, with small amounts of overtime as needed.
This is an hourly-paid, nonexempt (overtime eligible) position. Pay is commensurate with experience.
