Southern Illinois Dermatology is a busy dermatology clinic with offices located throughout southern Illinois. We are locally owned and operated by board certified dermatologist, Dr. Ted Van Acker, since 1996. We have proudly served the southern Illinois region for almost 30 years! Come be part of our team!
Southern Illinois Dermatology seeks full time Medical Billing Representative. We offer a competitive benefit package for full time candidates. All billing is done from our corporate office located in Herrin, Illinois. We are looking for a team member who wants long term and stable employment with an opportunity for growth.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of medical billing required
- Advanced experience with electronic processes including but not limited to EDI & ERA
- Experience with Nextgen Healthcare medical software preferred but not required
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and insurance representatives
Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
- CPT/ICD-10 knowledge along with appropriate modifier usage
- Review, prepare and electronically submit insurance claims.
- Investigate claim denials, develop claims and/or appeal when necessary
- Post manual and electronic payments from patients, insurance companies, and all sources.
- Maintain organized records for appropriate follow-up with all sources
- Answer phone calls and communicate with patients and staff in a professional, respectful, kind manner
- Analyze outstanding claims and follow-up/appeal as necessary
- Maintain knowledge of insurance and dermatology billing practices and procedures
- Working knowledge of full scope revenue cycle management process required including encounter/claim creation, payments/EOBs/ERAs, denial management, A/R follow up, and guarantor responsibility

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
