Position Summary
- Responsible for coordinating and providing administrative support for the laboratory clients (nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and CILA locations).
Principal Accountabilities

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in health-related field preferred.
Licenses and Certification
- Valid IL Driver’s License
- PBT (ASCP) required
- MLA (ASCP) recommended within 1 year of hire
Experience and Skills
- Laboratory Experience: 3 years
- Role Specific Responsibilities
- Demonstrates ability to adjust work assignments to meet needs of department:
- Answer phone calls.
- Fill client supply orders
- Assist with courier drops when needed.
- Fill in as courier when needed.
- Review and correct the LIS Interface Error Report
- Monitors front office policy and procedure manuals, Clinical Laboratory Directory of Services and ensures review and revisions.
- Helps create and manage schedule.
- Correct patient and client bills.
- Coordinate all client census statements for proper client billing.
- Enter all charges into patient accounts accordingly.
- Monitor, Print, Scan and Result non-interfaced reference lab tests.
- Identify, research and resolve all issues that fall to the exception log.
- Monitor Outstanding log, all reference lab tests for timeliness for results; identify any delays that may arise and resolve the issue to ensure timely results.
- Oversee supply inventory levels and orders supplies as needed.
- Process and monitor workqueue fallouts to continue process.
- Update Laboratory charges on spreadsheet as needed.
- Assist with direct patient care (phlebotomy, registration, or phlebotomy assist) as necessary.
- Assist with staff communication, training, competency, and follow-up.
- Demonstrates ability to perform basic requirements of all Outreach/Offsite positions and can act in a back-up role when necessary.
- Oversees and assign daily activities in the Manager’s absence.
- Attends all Super User meetings, collaborates with other Outreach/Offsite Super Users and relays information back to the team.
- Assist and train staff for positions.
- Monitor and update Reference Lab website as needed.
