Position Summary

• Responsible for coordinating and providing administrative support for the laboratory clients (nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and CILA locations).

Principal Accountabilities

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree in health-related field preferred.

Licenses and Certification

• Valid IL Driver’s License
• PBT (ASCP) required
• MLA (ASCP) recommended within 1 year of hire

Experience and Skills

• Laboratory Experience: 3 years
• Role Specific Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates ability to adjust work assignments to meet needs of department:
    • Answer phone calls.
    • Fill client supply orders
    • Assist with courier drops when needed.
    • Fill in as courier when needed.
  • Review and correct the LIS Interface Error Report
  • Monitors front office policy and procedure manuals, Clinical Laboratory Directory of Services and ensures review and revisions.
  • Helps create and manage schedule.
  • Correct patient and client bills.
  • Coordinate all client census statements for proper client billing.
  • Enter all charges into patient accounts accordingly.
  • Monitor, Print, Scan and Result non-interfaced reference lab tests.
  • Identify, research and resolve all issues that fall to the exception log.
  • Monitor Outstanding log, all reference lab tests for timeliness for results; identify any delays that may arise and resolve the issue to ensure timely results.
  • Oversee supply inventory levels and orders supplies as needed.
  • Process and monitor workqueue fallouts to continue process.
  • Update Laboratory charges on spreadsheet as needed.
  • Assist with direct patient care (phlebotomy, registration, or phlebotomy assist) as necessary.
  • Assist with staff communication, training, competency, and follow-up.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform basic requirements of all Outreach/Offsite positions and can act in a back-up role when necessary.
  • Oversees and assign daily activities in the Manager’s absence.
  • Attends all Super User meetings, collaborates with other Outreach/Offsite Super Users and relays information back to the team.
  • Assist and train staff for positions.
  • Monitor and update Reference Lab website as needed.
