Information Technology Technical Associate (Web Specialist II) Job Opening in Chatham, Illinois
The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) at SIUC Center for Workforce Development (SIUC CWD) office in Chatham, Illinois. Work hours are Monday-Friday between 8:00am-4:30pm. Starting Salary = $3,557.00 per month. The IT Technical Associate (Web Specialist II) is responsible for developing, publishing, and managing the web and mobile applications content and developing/providing training both online and in person as needed. Essential skills include the ability to oversee and coordinate activities of user groups, ability to effectively communicate with other colleagues, supervisors, administrative staff, and other IT users, the ability to identify and resolve technical problems, and the ability to effectively communicate and professionally interact with all staff levels.
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
· Develop resources, processes and strategies to be used by our partners to implement and integrate into their day-to-day work.
· Develop, manage, and maintain content for the web and mobile applications for which SIU CWD is responsible.
· Make improvements in the design and development of the web and mobile applications’ existing features. The Information Technology Technical Associate will work with designers and developers to ensure site improvements meet sponsor and customers’ business requirements and are implemented appropriately and within time parameters.
· Plan, organize, and participate in webinars and in-person events to represent projects, showcase applications, and gather user feedback.
· Publish and manage newsletters and other messages, emails, social media posts, and related means of outreach to customers.
· Provide ongoing reports on content development and related activities.
· Create mockups and graphics to depict web and mobile application plans and to display on web and print materials.
· Work with advisory groups, partner agencies, and other organizations to influence program development and to interface a variety of resources and information under the direction of the Associate Director.
Education/Experience Requirements:
A. High school diploma or equivalent.
B. Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
a. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
i. 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
ii. Associate’s degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
iii. 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
iv. Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
b. Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.
c. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
