Are you interested in an exciting opportunity to oversee the daily operations of a designated food service unit within Dining Services at SIUE?
SIUE is seeking qualified applicants for a Dining Service Area Supervisor responsible for supervising food preparation, service, and maintenance activities while ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.

What You Will Do
· Supervise and coordinate the operation of a food service unit, including food preparation, set-up, service, and clean-up
· Manages and coordinates the work of student and Civil Service employees, assists with scheduling, and supports training initiatives to maintain high standards of service and efficiency
· Direct the work activities of student and Civil Service employees, providing guidance and training as needed
· Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation procedures to promote a safe working environment
· Assist with the preparation of work schedules, making adjustments as necessary to meet operational needs
· Participate in food preparation and serving activities, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
· Maintain accurate records related to food production, inventory, and employee schedules
· Assist in training new employees on job duties, safety protocols, and customer service standards
· Requisition food and supplies to maintain inventory levels and support operational requirements
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Three (3) years (36 months) of food service work experience in an institutional or commercial setting.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
· Supervisory ability and experience
· Ability to pass food handlers examination
· Knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures and possession of Illinois Department of Public Health Food Service Management Sanitation Certificate

Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, candidates must be a current Illinois resident.
