Description
Under the direction of the Food Service Administrator, the Dining Service Area Supervisor oversees the daily operations of a designated food service unit within Dining Services. This role involves supervising food preparation, service, and maintenance activities while ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards. The supervisor manages and coordinates the work of student and Civil Service employees, assists with scheduling, and supports training initiatives to maintain high standards of service and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and coordinate the operation of a food service unit, including food preparation, set-up, service, and clean-up.
- Direct the work activities of student and Civil Service employees, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation procedures to promote a safe working environment.
- Assist with the preparation of work schedules, making adjustments as necessary to meet operational needs.
- Participate in food preparation and serving activities, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Maintain accurate records related to food production, inventory, and employee schedules.
- Assist in training new employees on job duties, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Requisition food and supplies to maintain inventory levels and support operational requirements.
- Foster positive customer relations by addressing concerns and maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Coordinate daily activities with other food service units to optimize efficiency and support departmental goals.

If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, your application will move forward for examination / testing in which you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score.
