Are you interested in playing a critical role in managing the Return of Title IV (R2T4) program and ensuring compliance with federal regulations governing financial aid disbursement and management?
The Student Financial Aid Department at SIUE is seeking applicants for a R2T4 Financial Aid Coordinator that oversees the processing of federal loans and waivers, assists in student budget packaging, resolves financial aid discrepancies, and serves as the lead for Direct PLUS loans.

What You Will Do
- Manage and execute the R2T4 process to prevent overpayment of federal aid to withdrawn students
- Verify student attendance and eligibility, recalculate aid as necessary, and process fund returns in compliance with federal guidelines
- Process federal loans and waivers to assist students in meeting financial obligations.
- Review applications, certify Direct PLUS loans (graduate and parent), and ensure accurate disbursement of funds
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and university policies regarding financial aid disbursement and reporting and maintain knowledge of federal guidelines and implement new policies as required
- Handle NSLDS error resolution and maintain accurate student aid records
- Serve as a team leader for R2T4 evaluations and processing
- Provide backup support for verification, NSLDS operations, and professional student aid packaging
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:
- College coursework in any discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Work experience coordinating office, business, or customer service/relations activities.
- One (1) year (12 months) of higher education, student services, or closely related experience.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, including eligibility requirements, application processes, funding awards, and conflict resolution
- Interpret the Registrar's transcript and attendance data to determine the R2T4 calculation
- Interpretation of university invoices, tuition and fees, refund practices, and university policies and procedures
- Understanding federal policies and rules. Superuser of COD, Central Processing System, and National Student Loan Data System
- Complete knowledge of Banner (including award creation and modifying)
- Basic understanding of US tax forms and the relationship between tax form elements and financial assistance application information
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word Processing
- Argos user (PLUS, Grad PLUS, NSLDS). Overall awareness of university admissions, records, financial assistance, bursar, and advising procedures
