Description
The Office of Online Services and Educational Outreach (OSEO) at SIUE is seeking a dynamic and strategic Assistant Director to lead initiatives related to Alternative Credentials and credit pathways. This position will be pivotal in expanding and managing programs that provide innovative opportunities for students, while aligning with workforce needs and enhancing credit for prior learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Program Management : Oversee the development and management of staff responsible for Alternative Credentials. Provide administrative and policy oversight for new and existing credentialing programs that meet workforce demands.
- Strategic Coordination : Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to conceptualize and initiate pathways for alternative credit and credentials. Lead efforts to create sustainable credit and non-credit programming at off-campus sites.
- Grant Development : Research, write, and submit grant proposals to secure funding for non-credit programming and alternative credit opportunities, targeting new student markets.
- Market Research : Conduct regular market research to identify workforce-aligned programming needs. Build partnerships with industry and corporate stakeholders to support placement of workforce trainees and apprenticeship programs.
- Marketing and Outreach : Intentionally market alternative credential programs and engage in community outreach. Create and maintain engaging web content and press releases to promote community engagement and credential opportunities.
- Staff Supervision : Supervise SIUE staff at designated locations, leading collaborative efforts to support off-campus programming and exploring opportunities for industry-aligned programming.
- Community Engagement : Proactively engage with businesses, non-profits, and community organizations to understand their needs and deliver appropriate educational opportunities. Attend and direct staff participation at career fairs and community events.
- Diversity and Inclusion : Support OSEO's, the University's, and the System's anti-racism initiatives and PEACE statement by participating in internal working groups and engaging in professional development activities.
Work Schedule :
Monday through Friday : 8 : 00-4 : 30
This position will travel and work at off campus locations for 60% of their appointment
