About Us

Southern Maine Recovery is opening a new residential Substance Use center. We specialize in treating substance use and co-occurring disorders. Our mission is to provide treatments and strategies that foster long-term recovery. We are dedicated to our mission and are looking for a Counselor to join our team!

Join Our Team

The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for performing client care activities for our new residential treatment program. He/she/They/Them will provide group therapy as facilitated by the Clinical Program Manager. Collaborates with the Treatment Team in the formulation of the Master Treatment Plan and assists in coordinating discharge planning.

Substance Abuse Counselor Requirements

  • Substance Use Disorder: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Required: CADC, or Clinical License in ME (LADC, CADC, LCSW, LCPC, LMHC, LMFT)
  • Fully or Conditionally Licensed substance use or mental health license may also apply

Substance Abuse Counselor Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan meetings.
  • Shares pertinent information with team as obtained from clients family, or others as indicated throughout
  • program.
  • Attends daily and weekly staffing meetings per schedule.
  • Evaluates the impact of therapeutic interventions upon the therapeutic milieu.
  • Facilitates group therapy.
  • Performs individual therapy with client/family.
  • Documents the assessment of client progress/regress and interventions provided in the medical record, on an ongoing basis.
  • Recognizes, responds to and assists in psychiatric crisis situations and provide the intervention necessary.
  • Responds and assists in medical emergency situations as directed and needed.
  • Communicates effectively with client, staff and physician.
  • Attends and participates in monthly Program Staff meeting as scheduled.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
