WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee the accounts payable team, direct the processing of invoices and payments, and manage expense accounts and budget reports.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
- Train, coach, and supervise team members involved in accounts payable operations.
- Assign and monitor daily tasks, providing clear guidance and feedback.
- Support team growth through regular feedback and ongoing development.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices.
- Analyze expense reports and invoices to verify accuracy, eligibility, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare invoices for payment; ensuring supporting documents are attached prior to submission to Corporate Controller.
- Oversee reports regarding cash flow; ensures correct payments are made in a timely manner.
- Enforce proper guidelines for handling and coding of invoices to maintain accurate financial records, including ensuring that expenses are allocated to the appropriate entity, department and G/L account.
- Reconcile accounts payable totals and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors' ledger).
- Ensures proper record keeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
- Ensure all records, including W-9 forms, insurance certificates, and vendor information, are current and compliant.
- Verify vendors' social security numbers and ensure year-end preparation of 1099's.
- Provide support for expense reviews and budget evaluations.
- Coordinate with the Corporate Controller and Property Managers on payments, vendor issues, and related matters.
- Provide guidance on accounts payable matters across departments.
- Assists with performance evaluations.
- Contribute to team/company engagement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
- Excellent supervisory and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to motivate staff.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, with one year of experience in an accounting office;
OR
- Three or four years of accounting experience with at least two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
