SUMMARY

Performs a variety of duties to provide outstanding customer service to develop and retain customer relationships. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Provide customers with excellent customer service by accepting and processing all financial transactions presented to the Teller to include but not limited to various types of deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, wire transfers, stop payments, check cashing and cash advances within the set guidelines and limits.

  • Build and maintain customer relations by providing high quality service
  • Issuing cashier's checks
  • Redeem savings bonds
  • Answer questions, investigate, and / or correct errors
  • Balance customer accounts
  • Balance, replenish, and research ATM / PTM transactions
  • Process checks orders for customers
  • Place appropriate holds on savings and checking accounts as needed
  • Comply with regulations by completing Currency Transaction Reports, Suspicious Activity Reports and OFAC checks
  • Run large volume deposits
  • Identify the need for and cross sell other banking products such as debit cards, online banking, mobile banking, electronic service, etc.
  • Be familiar with the Wealth Management Department, Consumer & Mortgage Loans and Commercial Loans to make referrals
  • Interview customers to obtain information and explain available financial services such as Savings and Checking accounts, Individual Retirement account and Certificates of Deposit
  • Clean and organize the branch / work area
  • Balance drawers within established guidelines / goals
  • Sign cashier's checks within assigned limits

Education and / or Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three weeks training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position is primarily responsible for handling customer transactions, resolving problems and pursuing sales opportunities.

Required needed include but not limited to, empathetic listening skills, strong personal skills along with sincere desire to assist the customer while maintaining confidentiality and protecting the bank's interests.
