What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Specialist/Legal Assistant, Bilingual Preferred position at Southern NV Senior Law Program?
SLP currently seeks a full-time Intake Specialist/Legal Assistant who will provide seniors with excellent customer care, perform duties with precision, and demonstrate attention to detail. This position is FLSA non-exempt. Bilingual candidates with fluency in Spanish are highly preferred.
Responsibilities include responding to incoming calls and online requests for information; scheduling appointments and providing reminders to clients; greeting and assisting clients in person; gathering demographic and contact information; assessing clients’ legal issues to discern area(s) of law and attorney assignment; opening case files; organizing, compiling and scanning documents into client case files; entering accurate legal codes and case notes into the case management system; notarizing documents if certified; and if bilingual, providing effective translating and interpreting, including legal concepts and terms in both languages.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of customer service. Experience with nonprofit customer care, legal case management, and/or Spanish translation, is a plus. Key attributes for this position are: proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook, competency with case management software, effective listening and communication, and an eagerness to engage with the senior community. Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged. The salary range for this position is $19 - $24 per hour, working 9.5 hours per day, Monday through Thursday.
