Position: Paraprofessional
Location: Southern Ohio Learning Center | Southern Ohio Educational Service Center
General Description:
Under immediate supervision of the classroom teacher/Intervention Specialist, the selected candidate would work with students with disabilities and/or typical students in a one-on-one situation or small group situation providing instruction for personal care and/or the use of instructional aides, assist in the preparation of activities and projects, monitor student activities, use positive guidance techniques, and participate in evaluation team meets when requested. Qualifications:
High School diploma, an Associate’s degree, or 48 college semester hours, or 72 college quarter hours, or pass the ETS paraprofessional test.
Possess an Ohio State Board of Education Educational Aide License or have the ability to attend the correct licensure.
Training and/or experience which evidences basic knowledge of email and computer applications.
Demonstrates a sincere desire to aid all students and work in cooperation with the lead classroom teacher/Intervention Specialist.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with a team.
Basic knowledge of mental health and wellness practices is preferred.
Must have a phone for communication purposes.
Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Must pass a criminal background check.

Salary: Salary Schedule M
Days: 190 days (prorated based on start date)
Hours: 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM (7.5 hours per day with 30-minute unpaid lunch)
