Medical Biller

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accuracy in coding and claims submissions, and facilitating the collection of payments. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate various medical billing software.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing purposes.
• Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
• Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid claims to ensure timely payment.
• Handle medical collections by communicating with patients regarding outstanding balances.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or coding.
• Generate billing reports and assist in audits as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries.

Experience

• Previous experience in medical billing or a related role is preferred.
• Proficiency in medical coding, including familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) systems.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare systems is essential.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.81 - $17.59 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
