Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the procurement process by managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring that materials are available for production needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics, along with excellent organizational skills to facilitate efficient purchasing operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the procurement of materials and supplies necessary for production.
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Process purchase orders and track order status until delivery.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels in our systems.
- Support production planning by forecasting material needs based on demand.
- Utilize e-commerce platforms for sourcing and purchasing supplies as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to align purchasing activities with production goals.
Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain management or materials management is preferred.
- Familiarity with logistics processes and inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of production planning principles is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchasing activities.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.31 - $21.09 per hour
