Job Title: Shop Maintenance Coordinator
Schedule: Monday-Friday (weekends as needed)
Location: Baton Rouge
This position is responsible for coordinating all Building and Grounds Maintenance, Pool Vehicle and Trailers, Motorized Equipment, Materials and Supplies and various responsibilities within Southern Power System’s operation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Effectively coordinate day-to-day shop and motorized equipment supply functions in support of all business units.
- Responsible for Building and Grounds maintenance and repairs. Will develop schedule to identify routine inspections and list all needed repairs for execution.
- Communicate weekly with project managers to schedule activities for equipment and yard maintenance.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and organizational policies and procedures through weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual inspections.
- Liaison of vehicle, motorized equipment and shop support with local operations personnel.
- Responsible for monitoring the inventory accuracy, health and reliability of fleet vehicles.
- Maintain repair and maintenance records for all vehicles, trailers, motorized equipment and shop tools.
- Develop and maintain schedule for trailer and motorized equipment maintenance, repairs and assignment.
- Coordinate necessary motorized equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Coordinate necessary trailer maintenance and repairs.
- Work with Equipment Coordinator to develop and purchase material inventory as needed (Consumables, Bus, Fasteners, Drill Bits, Blades, SF6)
- Assist with shop and job inventory coordination and warehousing.
- Coordinate gas cylinder inventory for fab work, GCB and GIS.
- Assist with shipping and receiving of shop and job-related materials. Will work to develop process to enable tracking and storage of all materials.
- Responsible for loading and unloading materials, equipment and trailers.
- Responsible for receiving and shipment of shop breaker inspections and repairs.
- Oversee and execute bus work and fabrication in shop as needed.
- Coordinate Shop assistants’ work.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with local rental, repair, and supply vendors.
- Interact with operations staff to continually improve services.
- Take calls after an hour for equipment issues.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a warehouse or shipping department
- Three years of fabrication/motorized equipment related experience highly preferred.
- Customer service background.
