Position Summary-
The on-site estimator position uses experience and learned skills to create various estimates within our internal systems. By using provided software, an estimator will work through creating a take-off using predetermined settings, prices and materials. An estimate is the first step in the life-cycle of our projects and attention to detail is a must. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude and possess the ability to work under pressure at times. They will be success driven, self-motivated and have the problem-solving skills to follow through with corrective actions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities-
- The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Analyze project specifications and blueprints to create a take-off in our internal system
- Problem-solve with the ability to work through situations to the end
- Work with the Estimating & Sales teams to complete projects in a timely manner
- Perform general administrative tasks as needed
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications-
- Previous estimating / take-off experience in the construction industry preferred
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Detail oriented
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Critical thinking
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods and practices
- Time management skills
- Strong work ethic
- Organized
