Job Title : Ironworking Shop Foreman

Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Ironworking Shop Foreman to oversee daily operations, production, and safety in our ironworking shop.
The Shop Foreman will be responsible for supervising a team of skilled ironworkers and fabricators, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of structural steel fabrication, welding techniques, and project management within a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and lead a team of ironworkers, welders, and fabricators, providing direction and guidance on daily tasks and projects.
- Oversee all aspects of the shop’s production schedule to meet deadlines and project specifications.
- Monitor workflow to ensure efficient use of materials, equipment, and labor resources.
- Inspect and maintain equipment, tools, and machinery, scheduling repairs and preventive maintenance as needed.
- Ensure that all work is performed according to quality standards, project specifications, and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to review drawings, specifications, and work orders.
- Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA standards, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Train new employees on shop processes, safety protocols, and quality expectations.
- Track and report on shop production metrics, including labor hours, material usage, and project status.
- Resolve conflicts or issues that arise on the shop floor in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ironworking, structural steel fabrication, or a similar field.
- Proven supervisory experience in a shop or manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and shop machinery.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, quality control standards, and blueprint reading.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Basic computer skills and experience with shop management software is a plus.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy materials throughout the shift.
- Must be comfortable working in a loud, industrial environment with varying temperatures.
