Youth Sports Coordinator
Cheshire Branch
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Hours - Saturday 8:45am to 12:00pm
Requirements:
- Qualified candidate will possess a four year college degree or within one semester of completion in a relevant area of study and should fulfill the following requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Have 1-3 years of programming experience with children
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Able to effectively handle conflict situations with children and adults
- Excellent problem solving skills and shows superior judgment
- Working towards a certification in First Aid, CPR, & AED
- Able to work independently and professionally
- Must be able to run, jump, and lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Candidate must continuously follow and promote the YMCA philosophy
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Youth Program Director, the Youth Program Coordinator is responsible and accountable for the programs and activities outlined below; and the development of new programs and management of related staff.
- Provide direct leadership for all Youth Sports Programs
- Assist with planning, program promotion, and evaluation of all sports programs
- Development of new programs and enhancement of current programs
- Hiring, training and supervision of staff and volunteers
- Facilitate the partnership between the schools and the YMCA
- Coordinate and complete all necessary administrative paperwork as requested, such as time sheets, new hire packets and payroll forms
- Report any suspected cases of abuse and/or neglect to the Youth Program Director or Senior Program Director of Youth Development immediately. Understand your role and obligations as a Mandated Reporter
- Work with the Youth Program Director or Senior Program Director of Youth Development within the confines of the department budget
- Work toward the completion of the assigned annual objectives
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Committee and Meeting Responsibilities:
- Meet with the Youth Program Director and Senior Program Director of Youth Development as needed
- Program and Membership Committee meetings – as required
- Department staff meetings – as needed
