We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Overnight Resident Advisor to work in our Skills program with at-risk youth in the New Haven, CT, area.
We have Full-time and part-time positions available.

Summary: To be a key member of the program team participating in the care, behavioral intervention and support of group home youth. Share responsibility for all aspects of client supervision and daily programming. Implements program goals and behavioral interventions as set by the Program Director. Provide documentation to support program participation. This position works in collaboration with Program Personnel, Community Resources and Families to provide opportunities for development for all clientele.
- Maintain accountability for client location at all times and have knowledge of and implement all Agency policies and procedures governing program operation including: client supervision, key control, and emergency procedures.
- Monitor client behavior and implement Agency/Program disciplinary procedures as needed.
- Document all shift activities and incidents in program log.
- Resolve client problems and handle all emergency situations in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client records and information.
- Implement maintenance and sanitation policies and monitor program assets.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in on-going Agency training.
- Attend supervision sessions with immediate supervisor.
- Complete additional client paperwork, maintain files and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Transport and supervise youth in off-grounds activities including recreational and educational/vocational activities and medical appointments.
- Complete head counts and rounds of facility and document in program log.
- Inspect clients’ rooms, facility, common areas and outside perimeter on a daily basis to include alarms, doors, window and door locks, lighting and fire safety equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring program cleanliness is maintained.
- Administer and record client medication per DCF medication administration guidelines.
- Supervise and assist in the preparation of client meals, cleaning, and life skills activities (i.e. job searches).
- Provide individualized crisis intervention and problem solving.
- Provide activity planning and supervision.
- Contact with community resources as needed.
- Use and application of program’s behavioral reward system.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living.
- Support the spiritual and cultural diversity of clients served.
- Ensure clientele are conforming to the safety/security needs of the program.
- Appropriately represent the Program/Agency in community situations, i.e. Court, DCF meetings, School functions, Appointments.
- Monitor, supervise, plan and facilitate group activities.
- All shifts are awake shifts.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Bachelors Degree and at least 6 months of related experience with at-risk youth, or Associates Degree and minimum 4 years experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, and OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- DCF Medication Administration Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certification
- A current CT Driver’s License
- Maintain a clear driving record
- Maintain a clear criminal record
- Maintain a clear DCF abuse and neglect record
- Annual TB screening
