We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to provide strategic direction, leadership, and administration of all aspects of Human Resources for Southland Companies. Duties include formulating Human Resource strategies, policies, procedures, and programs for the company. The Human Resources Manager will partner with managers to shape an organizational culture characterized by high performance, learning and growth opportunities, and collaboration. This position will provide guidance for managers in all areas of Human Resources management, and recommendation of strategies, policies, and practices to senior management.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Facilitate positive relationships between HR and employees across all companies and offices
- Implement and administer employee policies
- Provide high-quality advice and service to management on employee relations and performance management issues
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
- Coordinates company use of insurance brokers, insurance carriers, pension administrators, and other outside sources
- Lead the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans (PDPs) and employee development programs
- Conduct employee on-boarding and help organize training and development initiatives
- Manage the recruiting process for all companies, from job creation, sourcing, and communicating with candidates to negotiating offers, performing criminal background checks, and managing on-boarding activities
- Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
- Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
- Counsel managers on candidate selection, conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes
- Lead the implementation of company safety and health programs. Monitor the tracking of OSHA-required data.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. CentrallyHR) will be a plus
- Have a track record of quickly establishing relationships in new environments and being viewed as a trusted advisor to those in leadership positions
- Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring, and employee relations
- Ability to create a culture of inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork
