As our contracted Intake Counselor, you will be responsible for completing approximately ten assessments per week for SouthLight's new Fayetteville location.
We are able to accommodate a permanent, full-time Intake Counselor, if desired. This would require the ability to provide out-patient mental health and substance use treatment in addition to intake screenings and assessments.
Schedule
Assessments completed virtually (option to work on-site).
Flexible, daytime hours.
Pay
$100/assessment.
Job Responsibilities of an Intake Counselor
- Provide intakes, screenings, ongoing assessments and evaluations, treatment and care coordination
- Establish a therapeutic counseling relationship with each client
- Provide case management and coordination support
- Maintain accurate client records including treatment plans, person center plans, psychosocial assessments, crisis plans and service notes in a fully integrated electronic medical record system
- Schedule random drug screens for clients as needed and/or according to treatment plan, while using results as therapeutic tool to determine the client's progress in treatment
- Ensure compliance and fidelity with all state and federal guidelines as well as all contract and/or licensing requirements for substance use and mental health disorder treatment programs
- Familiarity with payor sources and provide documentation to obtain authorization to ensure clinical services provided are billable
Qualifications of an Intake Counselor
Education and Experience
- Master's degree in Human Services field
Licensure/Certifications
- Licensed or provisionally licensed to practice clinically (e.g., LCAS/A, LCSW/A, LCMHC/A)
- Dual licensure preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, positive attitude and ability to be flexible and embrace change in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to provide compassionate, collaborative, inclusive and authentic client-centered approach to care delivery
- Ability to interact effectively with persons of widely diverse roles, backgrounds, cultures, and socio-economic classes, those in crises or resistant or negative toward organization
- Knowledgeable in the diagnosis and treatment of substance use and mental health disorders
- Professional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to use electronic medical record systems
- Comfortable with MS Office Suite and windows-based applications
- Experience working with Veterans or Veteran affiliation is preferred
