Child Care Lead Teacher

Purpose
Responsible for ensuring the quality of education, health, and safety for all children within the center’s care. To create and maintain a healthy environment with staff that are committed to providing superior childcare to families. To provide an atmosphere that fosters family support and connection.
Responsibilities
- Provide a culture of excellence
- Partner with parents to provide second-to-none care for their child/ children
- Plan and execute curriculum
- Provide quality care for age appropriate development
- Oversee daily activities- Maintain policies and procedures that meet state requirements
- Maintain day-to-day operations
- Report to Early Learning Center Director
Qualifications
- Displays an authentic and growing relationship with God
- A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
- Ability to build relationships with families and staff and create a dynamic environment where education is achieved through play
- Must be able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
- Ability to self-evaluate, be willing to learn, seek and respond to constructive feedback, and maintain self-awareness at all times

- Must meet state specific guidelines for the child care teacher position
- Be 19 years old or older
- Have a high school diploma, a certificate of high school equivalence, or courses for credit from an accredited college or university
- Have successfully completed 6 semester hours or 90 clock hours or their equivalent of approved preservice training, or hold the Child Development Associate Credential issued by the Child Development Associate National Credentialing Program
- Have completed 3 clock hours of approved training in complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act
- Have completed approved basic health and safety training within 90 days of employment
- Have 9 clock hours of approved preservice training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public, or at least one academic college course for credit; and
- 1 year of experience working with children
